It was a fantastic day at Haslam on Saturday, as all three sides had wins over Kilburn. The A Grade gritted out an important victory, while the B's and C's belted their opponents. The D Grade and Queens went down to Uni and Modbury respectively.
On to this Saturday when we take the long drive out to North Haven for another important week.

A massive win for the A Grade last week that puts us in good stead for the next few games. Henry Read was MASSIVE again with 6 goals, while Ollie Borda had a standout performance popping up for 3!
The B and C Grades had formidable wins, with the B Grade now solidly eyeing off a fourth place finish for finals, while the C Grade need to keep winning to be in contention for September.
The Queens had ANOTHER close game but unfortunately went down to Modbury. The D Grade also had a tough loss out at Uni.

The Kings triple-header out at North Haven is big for a number of reasons - the A Grade can continue to put pressure on the low end of the table, while the B and C Grade can push for finals. There are a number of outs this week for various reasons which has seen some big changes.
Unfortunately Mitch Thiele is out for a while with work, and Seb Wilckens will miss this week on a family trip, while Lucas Saunders who has been electric up forward for the B's will miss the game with sickness.
But a D Grade bye and returning players means there will be a lot of exciting talent running around tomorrow. It's super exciting to see the return of the Ross brothers from their family holiday, while young guns Tom Felice and Will Cameron make the return after some time away.
The Queens have put up a strong team for their final minor round of the year. If they win against the Dragons then they are in the finals!

For those who don’t know how cash raffle works, it’s pretty simple. Every ticket you purchase puts you in the draw to win big cash prizes! Over the course of the night, ticket numbers will be drawn out until we are left with one standing and be crowned our winner. You will also have a chance you buy back into the raffle over the course of the night!

We delivered a comprehensive 103-point victory (137–34) at Haslam Oval, producing one of our strongest offensive performances of the season. From the outset, we established control through strong structure behind the ball, efficient use of space, and an ability to transition from defence to attack with increasing effectiveness as the game progressed.
Our ball movement was most effective when we showed composure, balanced tempo, and worked to create options through handball receive and support running. The continued use of the P1 option was a standout feature throughout the match and played an important role in maintaining possession and generating quality scoring opportunities.
A major positive was the our willingness to make selfless decisions, highlighted by consistently finding teammates in better positions rather than taking low-percentage shots. This team-first mindset contributed to improved scoring efficiency and reinforced the playing style we are striving to build.
While the scoreboard reflected dominance, the match also highlighted areas that require ongoing attention. Overhead marking was below the expected standard, and at times we became too focused on offensive opportunities, leaving our defence exposed behind the play. Additionally, while handball execution was generally strong, foot skills and forward connection were inconsistent at stages.
Overall, the performance demonstrated significant growth in our ball movement, decision-making, and attacking efficiency. The challenge now is to maintain those standards against stronger opposition while continuing to improve contest skills, defensive balance, and forward-half pressure. The next month will certainly determine where we stand in our finals race for 2026.

On Saturday afternoon, the Queens travelled to Modbury to take them on in what was a perfect day for footy with no rain.
We started the first quarter a little slow, but we continued to compete well and stayed in the contest. Despite not getting off to the ideal start, our pressure and effort allowed us to go into the second quarter up 13-13.
In the second and third quarters, we really lifted our attack and started to get on top. We moved the ball well and took our opportunities going forward. But Modbury weren’t backing off and kicked a few good goals and the Queens went into the fourth quarter up just 31-27.
Unfortunately, Modbury clawed their way back in the last quarter and put the pressure back on. In a tense finish, an unfortunate final minute resulted in the Queens going down by just three points.
Alice Emmett and Amber Hopkins took charge up forward, providing strong targets and making an impact in attack. Tally Jongeneel was also excellent in defence, intercepting heaps of the ball and providing plenty of run out of the backline.
The Queens now have a must-win game against Westminster this week at Haslam Oval if the Queens want to continue the season into finals. The Queens will be looking to bounce back strongly and put together a full four-quarter performance.

Hosting Kilburn in Round 13, we knew a win was crucial to keep ourselves firmly in the finals race. The response from the group was outstanding, producing our most complete performance of the season to record a dominant 22.13 (145) to 1.5 (11) victory.
From the opening bounce, our pressure, ball movement and work rate were at the level we'd been searching for. We controlled the contest all afternoon and gave our forwards plenty of opportunity, while the defence stood tall to restrict Kilburn to just a single goal for the match.
Hal Ives continued to show maturity beyond his years, consistently putting his teammates first and providing strong support around every contest. Fletcher Adams was simply dominant in the ruck, giving our midfield first use all day and winning virtually every hit-out. Up forward, Eddie Cook returned to his damaging best with four goals while working tirelessly up the ground to get involved. Harvey Wood was unstoppable, finishing with six majors and creating countless scoring opportunities for his teammates in a selfless and commanding display.
Stewart Watts capped off the performance with his best game of the season. His clearance work, tackling pressure and relentless resilience set the tone through the midfield. Week after week, opposition sides look to physically target him, and week after week he responds the best way possible—by winning the football, competing harder than anyone else and leading from the front.
It was an emphatic team performance and exactly the response we needed. With confidence restored, we now turn our attention to the long trip to North Haven as we look to build on this momentum.

The Ds travelled to Adelaide Uni on the weekend, where we faced the stronger of the two Uni sides in the competition. There weren't many expectations heading into the game, with only one player on the bench and having lost to them by around 10 goals the last time we met. That said, we came into the game hungry and determined to show how much we'd improved as a team since our previous encounter.
We started brilliantly, kicking the first goal of the game. The energy was high, and every player showed plenty of passion throughout the opening quarter. Unfortunately, that's where the momentum ended. The quality of the Adelaide Uni side began to show, and they were able to move the ball well and score freely.
In the end, Adelaide Uni was simply too polished. However, there were still plenty of positives to take away. We created a number of scoring opportunities against a quality opposition, and we looked at our best when we took the game on through the corridor and used our speed to move the ball. Next week we have the bye, so it’s a great chance for the boys to get back to the track and continue improving as a team, like we have been every single week!

Theo Harper was outstanding in the ruck and around the ground. He gave us plenty of first use through his hit-outs and contested marks, providing our forwards with quality opportunities inside 50.
Oscar Lemessurier showcased his incredible versatility. Starting forward before moving into defence to play on one of their key forwards,and later spending time in the ruck, Oscar performed every role to a high standard and had an outstanding all-round game.
